I collaborated with the MICA student Leili on her final project ‘Gol’ An Interactive Archive of Memories. This project was very enjoyable to work on. I was given some reference tracks of music that Leili liked and were important to her, but I was given a mainly free brief. Leili also had some field recordings that I incorporated into my pieces and in most cases, the field recordings actually inspired my compositions. I believe that they bring the pieces to life and add a more personal touch. The 5 tracks I produced are quite varied, ranging from orchestral, to more ambient and to abstract dialogue. I aimed for the pieces to be loopable and two of the pieces were recorded with the Guildhall Session Orchestra.
