In collaboration with LFA, I wrote the score for Hosanna’s short film ‘Underwater Lesson’. I was given a free brief and I wanted to create a score to reflect the quirky false sense of security at the start of the film before going into a darker theme for the murderous mermaid scene. I then aimed for the end credits to explore fantastical feelings and a dark eerie mood. The score was recorded with a small woodwind and string ensemble by the Guildhall Session Orchestra, and I included a vocal sample instrument that I had created from my own voice, as well as some textural synths.
